I started the evening with a IPA from Canberra - on a whim, from an extensive beer range. BentSpoke Brewing Co. Canberra Pale Ale - a fruity light beer that was good enough that I went back and had a second one. Wine selection was limited along with a very limited selection if spirits and cocktails. Entree of chilli salted squid with coconut slaw and aioli. Squid was fresh with a nice little chilli kick that was not over powering. It was served with a generous serving of a spinach and rocket based slaw that was refreshing. Mains was the Pepper Plum Roast Duck with sides of in season vegetables, crumbed mushrooms and maple pecan pumpkin. Crumbed mushrooms were a little over done and the pumpkin was served with walnut not pecan - aside from this duck was superb with a good mix of plum and pepper with neither overpowering the other and the fresh vegetables serving was well proportioned with the duck serving. The beer was a perfect accompaniment for the duck.  I finished the night with a deep fried ice cream with butterscotch sauce and a tawny port. Although there was no butterscotch sauce, the fresh srawberries, raspberry couli and sultanas provided the sweetness which was offset by the tawny. Friendly and attentive front of house staff rounded out a very pleasant meal. I'd recommend this place for travellers looking for a moderately priced place to eat or indeed those looking for a comfortable date night.

We are a breakfast regulars, but visited for dinner tonight for our first time after being tempted by their 'specials' board. Always great friendly service. Great casual indoor, or outdoor dining areas. Dinner did not dissapoint. With amazing fresh seafood, great steaks and a great menu choice. Topped off with homemade apple pie for dessert, great coffee and real tea made from tea leaves, not a bag in a cup! Definitely will be back for dinner again.
